Tiger at close quarters

Hanover Zoo

Many happy hours were spent in the Zoo when Philip was small. It was a popular outing for lots of parents of small children. The parking was good. An annual season ticket was very reasonably priced. Philip enjoyed looking at the animals - usually running ahead to see his favourites - and he always insisted on a pony ride!
Apart from the animals, the Zoo boasted an extremely good playground and lots of kiosks where drinks or more substantial sustenance could be procured.
During our recent holiday, we were able to experience some of the improvements made to the Zoo over the past 6 years - it hardly felt like the same place. We were able to cruise along the Zambesi and see the African wildlife, visit the Jungle Palace - home to elephants and big cats, climb the Gorilla mountain and visit Meyers Hof - a German farm.  Many of the improvements were made for Expo2000, but more are planned - a container was waiting to be unpacked from Hudson's Bay!
Anyone visiting Hanover could find something to interest and entertain in the Zoo.
